Two PhD student positions

The Department of Social Anthropology, Stockholm University announces two vacant, salaried PhD studentships. Ref. No. SU FV-0648-19. Closing date: 02/04/2019.

The doctoral programme consists of 240 higher education credits (4 years of study), of which the doctoral thesis is worth 165 credits and course work and literature reading 75 credits. Teaching at doctoral level in Social Anthropology is in English. Doctoral candidates must have sufficiently good spoken and written English to be able to meet the demands of teaching and course literature without difficulty. The position is for four years but is normally extended to five by the inclusion of an additional 20 % for departmental teaching and administration.

Qualification requirements

In order to meet the general entry requirements, the applicant must have completed a second-cycle degree, completed courses equivalent to at least 240 higher education credits, of which 60 credits must be at advanced level in Social Anthropology, or have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge in Sweden or elsewhere.

In order to meet the specific entry requirements, you must have at least 120 credits in Social Anthropology or equivalent of which at least 60 credits at advanced level. A minimum of 15 credits at advanced level must be from dissertation or project work. In addition to these requirements good knowledge of English is required.
