The position in accordance with Section 28 subsection 1 of the Hamburg higher education act (Hamburgisches Hochschulgesetz, HmbHG) commences on 01.10.2019.
This is a fixed term contract in accordance with Section 2 of the academic fixed-term labor contract act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz, WissZeitVG). The initial fixed term is three years. The position calls for 50% of standard work hours per week.*
Responsibilities:
Research associates will be expected primarily to teach and conduct research. The research associate will also have the opportunity to pursue further academic qualifications, in particular a doctoral dissertation. At least one-third of set working hours will be made available for the research associate’s own academic work.
Specific Duties:
Support and contribution to the academic services in research and teaching, support of funding proposals, teaching of classes on Bachelor level (2 LVS).
Requirements:
A university degree in a relevant field. The candidate should have an excellent university degree in Empirical cultural research, cultural anthropology, european ethnology or a neighbouring discipline. First experiences in empirical research and teaching of university classes is welcome. Research interests should be focusses in the topic areas of the BA and the MA programme of the Institute, in particular in the fields of “Digitization in Everyday Life” or “Digital Heritage” as well as excellent German and English language skills.
