About the role
The Department of Anthropology and Sociology is a world-leading research-led department. Its academics and research students work across a wide spectrum of anthropological, regional, and theoretical issues, including development, medical and psychological anthropology, food, migration, political economy, conflict, gender, race, infrastructure and the environment, critical theory and innovative ethnographic methods. One of the Department’s key strengths lies in fostering a supportive learning and teaching environment for its students.
About you
You will need to demonstrate the following qualifications and skills:
A PhD in Social/Cultural Anthropology
Experience developing and teaching university modules to a high standard
Broad knowledge of social theory and applied anthropology, as well as topical expertise to teach the Anthropology of Climate Change at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Achievement of high-quality research and outputs, in line with this level of appointment
High awareness of and the ability to accommodate a diversity of identities and protected characteristics in academic environments
Strong interpersonal and time management skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, meet varied deadlines, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders

Salary: £45.089 – £53,115 per annum (Including London Allowance)
Location: Bloomsbury, London (home based currently due to COVID-19)
Contract type: Fixed Term – 12 months (Successful candidate must be based in the UK for the duration of their contract)
